Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:
- The St. Louis City Water Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the eastern parts of its service area. The advisory was prompted by low water pressure caused by a broken water main, though officials say they have not detected any contamination to the water supply. The link provides a map of St. Louis neighborhoods impacted by the boil water advisory, which will remain in effect until further notice. (Press Release Desk)
- The St. Louis community gathered for a vigil on Sunday honoring transgender people who have lost their lives to violence, just one day after five people were killed at an LGBTQ+ club in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The activists walked to the Transgender Memorial Garden, where they lit candles to honor the 32 transgender individuals killed this year. Mayor Tishaura Jones signed a proclamation at the vigil declaring Nov. 20 as St. Louis Transgender Day of Remembrance. (KSDK.com)
- Firefighters responded to a house fire in south St. Louis County early Monday morning. The blaze broke out at a home on Cheryl Court near Concord School Road in Sappington just before 2:30 a.m., where crews from three separate jurisdictions arrived to find a fire enveloping the second story. Fire officials say they do not know whether anyone currently lives in the home. (KSDK.com)
