Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:
- The city of St. Louis and St. Louis County are reportedly distributing $1.6 million in rental assistance each week. This is the second round of emergency rental assistance. The median utility payment was $369.33 and the median rent payment was $3,050. (Leader Publications)
- St. Louis inmates will no longer be able to receive physical mail beginning Jul. 1. The new policy is meant to cut down on the number of drugs entering the prison system. Inmates will be able to access mail through a digital rendering presented on electronic devices and tablets. (Riverfront Times)
- The St. Louis Women's Caucus has rescinded its candidate endorsements. The organization received significant backlash after Jane Dueker received an endorsement. Rep. LaDonna Appelbaum and Councilwoman Lisa Clancy rejected their endorsements in an act of protest. The organization will now re-examine and update its endorsement process and by-laws.
