Woman's Ex-Husband Seeks Order Of Protection Against Greitens
The ex-husband of a woman who had an affair with Greitens says he feels intimidated by the governor and doesn't want to be deposed.
ST. LOUIS, MO — The legal troubles keep piling up for Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who was accused in January of taking a non-consensual nude photo of a woman he was having an affair with and attempting to use that photo to blackmail the woman into silence. That woman's ex-husband, whose audio recordings of conversations he had with his wife about the affair launched the investigation into Greitens, has filed a motion seeking an order of protection against the Republican governor.
While the man does not allege any threats, he says he is intimidated because Greitens is a retired Navy SEAL special forces officer, and he does not want to comply with a subpoena to be deposed before the governor's legal team.
A judge has set the governor's trial date for May 14, despite prosecutors asking for a November trial date and the governor's defense asking for a date just two weeks away.

The governor admitted the affair in January, calling it a "deeply personal mistake," but he has denied trying to blackmail his mistress with a compromising photo, instead blaming a "reckless liberal prosecutor" for the case against him.
Dozens of Missouri lawmakers, Republicans and Democrats, have called on the governor to resign, but Greitens has said he's not going anywhere.
