Five Carjackings In St. Louis In Two Days, Police Say

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police in St. Louis are investigating a spate of carjackings across the city since that all happened in the same 48-hour span. Fox 2 reports five people have had their cars stolen in armed confrontations since Saturday.
In the first incident, a 64-year-old man was exchanging insurance information with another driver after an accident when the other driver said he had a gun and demanded the key's to the man's 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The incident happened around 7 p.m. near the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and Thrush Avenue. Police said the suspect was in his 30s and tall, driving a white 2008 Dodge Charger and accompanied by a woman, who helped in the carjacking.
The Post-Dispatch reports the man and woman abandoned the Charger when they fled the scene.

Another carjacking happened around midnight on Saturday at a gas station in the 1600 block of Union Boulevard. Police say the suspect demanded a 21-year-old man's Chevrolet Impala when he refused to buy drugs from the carjacker. The thief ordered the victim into the passenger seat, taking the victim for a short ride, before dropping him off and disappearing with the car.

A short time later a 48-year-old man had his 2015 Infiniti Q70 stolen by two men with guns near Fairground Park.
And on Sunday three women also reported carjackings. In the first incident, two women in their 20s said an armed man in a surgical mask approached their car in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue. A 19-year-old man was arrested and their car was recovered a short time later.
Finally, police say a 42-year-old woman reported her car stolen around 11:30 Sunday night. Her car was also recovered and a 44-year-old man was arrested.
