Flight Returns To Saint Louis After Pilot Hears Something Strange
Delta Flight 1199 landed safely and police conducted a security check of the aircraft at the gate. What exactly the pilot heard isn't clear.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A Delta flight headed for Atlanta returned to St. Louis' Lambert International Airport Wednesday evening after the pilot heard something mid-flight, according to media reports and a statement from Delta. What exactly the pilot heard isn't clear.
Delta cited a possible maintenance issue and said the flight landed safely without incident.
"Out of an abundance of caution, customers were asked to deplane at the gate expeditiously and airport emergency personnel met the flight on arrival," the airline said. "Delta's maintenance technicians will evaluate the aircraft and customers will be accommodated on an alternate aircraft this evening."
