Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:

  1. St. Louis-area auto shops share information on car repairs following the historic flooding. A car's damages depend on the level of flooding that the car experienced. If water reaches the car's electronic components, repairs will likely be too costly to warrant repair. A good way to detect if a car has experienced flooding is if a water line is shown in the trunk area. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
  2. The St. Louis Police Department shut down a portion of Interstate 55 at Gasconade Avenue to investigate a shooting. A man was fatally shot on the interstate yesterday afternoon. The department shut down southbound lanes for a few hours before reopening the lanes around 3:00 p.m. The department has not released the victim's identity. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
  3. The latest weather report shows that rain will return to the St. Louis area on Sunday. The metro area experienced record rainfall levels this last week which caused flooding events to occur. The temperature will increase throughout the week before reaching the upper 90s on Wednesday. Humidity will cause the heat index to hit triple digits. (KSDK.com)
