Four Suffer Smoke Inhalation At America's Best Value Inn

The motel was evacuated and four guests were taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A woman and three children were hospitalized for smoke inhalation after being evacuated from an America's Best Value Inn near the Lumiere Place Casino downtown Tuesday morning. The cause of the fire, which began in a vacant second-floor room, is still being investigated. It forced the evacuation of the motel amid below freezing temperatures in St. Louis. Firefighters battled the fire in the frigid weather, with icicles forming on their hydrants and hoses.
