1. The glow of ‘Gaslight Dreams' (stlamerican.com) — A new ballet called “Gaslight Dreams” recently lit up St. Louis with a jazz-fueled tribute to the city’s historic Gaslight Square nightlife. Local institutions Saint Louis Dance Theatre and Jazz St. Louis joined forces for the December performances, blending Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker, big band arrangements, and a queer love story to celebrate St. Louis’ artistic legacy and enduring creative spirit.

Garden District STL and Apotheosis Comics report busy days after a tough year marked by closures, construction, and even a nearby fire, underscoring how residents’ choice to shop local is directly keeping neighborhood jobs and storefronts alive.
   

4. Governor Kehoe highlights wins, challenges in first year in office (fox4kc.com) — Governor Mike Kehoe is touting his first-year achievements while highlighting how state lawmakers returned control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to a governor-appointed board and responded to the devastating May tornado in the city. He also defends stadium financing debated after the Chiefs’ move, and backs a new congressional map he says reflects Missouri’s increasingly conservative values.
