Get Free Fries, Ice Cream Friday Across Missouri

MISSOURI — While some think Friday the 13th is bad luck, it's far from it if you're a fan of free food. This week, Friday is also National French Fry Day, which means one thing: Free fries (or at least deals on fries) at participating restaurant chains across the country. Plus, Potbelly Sandwich Shop is making Friday the 13th a little sweeter with free ice cream sandwiches for Potbelly Perks members — and not just on Friday, but on Thursday, July 12 and Saturday, July 14 as well.

So where and how can you score free fries and deals? Here's a list of Illinois franchise chains offering up the deep-fried treat for a sweet deal:

McDonald's, which has locations in just about every town in Chicagoland, is offering a free medium order of fries with any purchase (minimum $1) on the McDonald's app. Even better? The deal is good any Friday, not just Friday the 13th. McD app download and registration required.

Dunkin Donuts is offering fans a free chance to try its "new spin on fries" known as Donut Fries, which are pieces of croissant-style donut dough fried and covered in cinnamon and sugar. But unfortunately no locations in Missouri are participating. You can still stop by to try the delicious, buttery creations, but it'll cost you.

IHOP (or, if you prefer, IHOB), which has dozens of Missouri locations (find them all here) now has unlimited fries with any burger combo ($6.99 and up) for a limited time only, valid for dine-in only/not valid for online or IHOP'N Go orders.

Wingstop, which has half a dozen St. Louis locations and more across the state (find them here), offers a free large order of fries for signing up for the Wingstop eClub.

Free ice cream sandwiches

Meanwhile, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, with a handful of Missouri locations (find them here), is offering free ice cream sandwiches to customers who are members of the Potbelly Perks program with any purchase. If you're not a member, you can join by downloading the Perks app for Android or iPhone.

The deal is good from Thursday, July 12 to Saturday, July 14.
