Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:

  1. Alderwoman Megan Green has officially filed to run as St. Louis Aldermanic President. She turned in all 1,400 signatures on Friday, making her campaign official. She will be competing against Alderman Jack Coatar for the position. The filing deadline is Jul. 15. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
  2. A St. Louis circuit court bailiff has been charged with domestic assault against his child's mother. According to prosecutors, 36-year-old James Bond struck and strangled his child's mother during a dispute. A judge ruled on Friday that Bond can be released on a personal recognizance bond with GPS monitoring in place. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
  3. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has announced plans to sue St. Louis City and St. Louis County officials for spending money to assist residents getting abortions in other states. Schmitt has cited a state law that reportedly bans public funds from being used to perform or assist an abortion. There is currently a bill pending in St. Louis City that would earmark $1 million for transporting women into Illinois for abortion services. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
