- A former teaching assistant at Florissant's Lusher Elementary School has been sentenced to 50 years in prison. Deonte Taylor, 39-years-old, was found guilty of raping a second-grader and exposing the child to HIV. Thankfully, the child tested negative for the virus. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- Mayor Tishaura Jones has officially declared June 3 as Gun Violence Awareness Day. St. Louis joins numerous other municipalities from across the country in using the day as a chance to honor those that died from gun violence. Mayor Jones joined Mayors Against Illegal Guns in urging the Senate to take action against gun violence. (KMOV4)
- Nurses with the Saint Louis University Hospital are protesting. The nurses gathered outside SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital to protest low pay and understaffing. The nurses are protesting the organization's 300-plus nursing vacancies and the administration's reliance on significantly higher-paid agency nurses. (Riverfront Times)
