Habitat For Humanity To Move, Open New ReStore In The Spring
The building used to be a Schnucks supermarket. Now it will house offices, a warehouse, and a new ReStore starting next April.

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has announced that it will move its headquarters to a new St. Louis location at 3830 South Grand, near the intersection of Grand and Chippewa. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis recently sold its Forest Park Avenue property to Midas Hospitality. Since then, the organization has remained at the location while searching for a new site for its administrative offices, construction warehouse and City ReStore.
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis will purchase the aprox. 51,000 square foot building from Schnuck Markets. The 41-year old building had been used as a grocery store and, more recently, as a call center. Habitat is expected to move-in by the end of April 2018.
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis will acquire the Dutchtown property partially with a cash payment, as well as a charitable contribution from Schnucks.

The new space will allow for a large ReStore with an open floor retail space similar to Habitat’s ReStore Des Peres. The new City ReStore will have its own dock for easy transfer of construction and home remodeling supplies and will open by the end of April. The ReStore Des Peres will remain open in its current location.
“As a St. Louis-based business who puts a great emphasis on community service, Schnucks thanks Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis for their continued efforts to bring more affordable housing to residents of the area," said Schnucks Senior Vice President of Real Estate Steve Heitz. "The people of St Louis are lucky to have an organization that invests so much in our community. We wish them all the best at their new headquarters and ReStore location in south St. Louis.”

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis CEO Kimberly McKinney said, “We are delighted to have found a property in the City that will allow us to function as one – our administrative offices, construction warehouse and ReStore will be housed under one roof. We look forward to moving to our new neighborhood and to continuing the important work of providing affordable housing for hardworking low income families who deserve a safe and decent place to live.”
The move won't occur until next spring, and Habitat for Humanity spokesperson Maxine Goldstein encouraged shoppers to continue to shop at the Forest Park ReStore location in the meantime.
