Homeless Man Found Dead In Downtown St Louis Port-A-Potty
Employees working nearby describe a man with mental health and substance abuse issues. They tried unsuccessfully to get him to a shelter.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Just days before Christmas, a homeless man is dead in downtown St. Louis, the Post-Dispatch reports. Office workers left a nearby holiday party to watch as police removed his body from a port-a-potty where he had been living. He had been living there for weeks, they said:
On Wednesday, somebody noticed that the door to the gray and teal port-a-potty was cracked open. Police arrived on the scene around lunchtime and found the man dead, while at least one group of employees in a nearby office building celebrated the holidays with a feast of roast beef and turkey.
Their attention was drawn to the window, where they watched officials work the scene below.
Police say the man's name was Grover Perry. A cause of death has not been released, but they do not believe foul play was involved in Perry's death. According to family, Perry had mental health issues and had at one time been in a special education program. His brother had offered him a place to stay about six months ago, but Perry declined.
