Watch Humane Society, St. Louis Fire Dept Save Dog From Hot Car
The dog, left in the car for at least two hours, was returned to the owner with an agreement they would take him immediately to a vet.
ST. LOUIS, MO — The Missouri Humane Society's Animal Cruelty Task Force and St. Louis Fire Department rescued a dog locked in a hot car near Laclede's Landing Wednesday afternoon. According to a video posted by the humane society, the dog had been locked inside for at least two hours.
"This is not a happy dog," a humane society representative said before placing the dog in an air-conditioned van.
"The air's blasting in here. It's nice and cool," she said.

The temperature in St. Louis today climbed well into the 90s, and the the humane society said temperatures in the vehicle measured as high as 119 degrees.

The humane society told Patch the dog was OK. The pup was returned to his owner, who arrived shortly after the dog was removed from the car, on agreement that they would take him immediately to a veterinarian.
