Husband Beats Wife To Death In South Saint Louis: Police
Nancy Johnson died at a hospital Saturday after suffering internal bleeding and organ damage.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Nancy Johnson, 55, is dead after being beaten by her husband two weeks ago. Police confirmed Tuesday that she suffered bleeding in her brain and organ damage in an assault on March 17 in the 3100 block of Itaska Street in south St. Louis. She died at a hospital Saturday.
Robert Johnson, 51, has been charged with domestic assault and prosecutors say they are likely to add murder to the counts against him. According to charging documents, Johnson admitted to police that he punched and kicked his wife.
Johnson was initially held on $50,000 bail, but Patch can't confirm whether he's been released or is still in custody.
