Illinois Man Sentenced To 25 Years For Downtown St. Louis Murder

SEMO student Bobby Christman was gunned down in 2015. His murderer, Christopher Grant, will be behind bars for the next quarter-century.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Illinois man Christopher Grant, 21, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the fatal shooting of Bobby Christman, a south county resident and Southeast Missouri State University student, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Grant pleaded guilty to a series of charges related to the 2015 shooting, including second-degree murder and attempted robbery. Prosecutors said Christman and two others were sitting in a parked car when a gunman opened the rear door and tried to grab Christman's girlfriend's purse. She tried to fight back and Christman said something before the gunman shot him and fled.

Two others were indicted in the case. Omar Glass, 21, was sentenced to five years in September for carjacking. Tony Ross, who is also charged with second-degree murder, robbery, and gun charges will be tried in April.
