ST. LOUIS, MO — The horror masters at The Darkness -- one of America's top-rated haunted attractions -- have combined everyone's two favorite holidays, Christmas and Halloween, with the new seasonal event, "Krampus Returns: A Christmas Horror Story."
The Darkness will open for one night only during the Christmas season for this special event on Saturday, December 16, from 7 to 11 p.m. Admission tickets are $29.95 and are available at https://scarefest.fearticket.com.
At St. Louis' newest Holiday tradition, guests will encounter evil elves, demented Santa and the evil Krampus himself. Guests are advised to bring their cameras because taking pictures with Santa will never be the same. Plenty of photo opportunities will be available during tours of The Darkness decked out for the horror-filled holidays. All guests also can play The Darkness' famous Zombie Laser Tag, included in the ticket price.

What or who is Krampus? In European folklore, Krampus is pictured as a horned figure that appears to be part goat and part demon. During Christmas, the beast punishes children who have been bad during the year, while Santa Claus or St. Nicholas rewards good children. Krampus is included in traditional parades and holiday events in many countries and regions, including Austria, Bavaria, the Tyrol, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and many others.
