Look Up This Weekend For Glimpse Of International Space Station

Here are a list of times the space station will be visible from St. Louis and the surrounding areas.

ST. LOUIS, MO — If you're heading out this weekend, look up. You might just get a glimpse of the International Space Station. The largest structure humans have put into space, the ISS travels at a speed of nearly five miles per second, orbiting the Earth every 90 minutes. That means the six astronauts on board get to experience 16 sunrises and sunsets every day.

From the ground, the ISS looks like a fast-moving point of light. It doesn't blink like a plane, and it's often the brightest object in the night sky — only the moon is brighter — even visible in the middle of the city.
