Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:
- At St. Louis man is facing charges after forcing two young girls to restrict their eating to the point of malnourishment. Nicholas R. Pierce has been charged with two counts of child abuse or neglect. The two girls, aged 9 and 11, were taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital for treatment. The girls have been placed in state custody. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
- At the 4:00 p.m. mark on Election Day yesterday, St. Louis County's voter turnout reached 47 percent. Voting ended at 7:00 p.m. in St. Louis County. Voter turnout for the 2018 midterm election was 69.24 percent in St. Louis County. According to the county's election officials, voter turnout appeared to be on track to be the strongest of any election since the November 2020 General Election. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- Winter temperatures will likely impact St. Louis by Friday. This week's temperatures have been a rollercoaster of record-high warm periods, but a strong cold front will be moving into the St. Louis area from the west late Thursday night.
