Man Crashes Car After Being Fatally Shot In College Hill

ST. LOUIS, MO — Roderick Silinzy, 40, was fatally shot in the 2100 block of Linton Avenue, in St. Louis' College Hill neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, the Post-Dispatch reports. Police say Silinzy, who was driving, crashed his car into a vacant home after being shot, and was declared dead at the scene.

More than 30,000 Americans are killed by guns every year and twice that number are injured, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 13,000 are murdered. The rest take their own lives or are victims of shooting accidents. Almost half are children or young adults.
