Man Fatally Shoots Accused Burglar In North Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — A man fatally shot a burglar at his home in the Greater Ville neighborhood of north St. Louis early Monday morning, the Post-Dispatch reports. Police responded to the 3900 block of Labadie Avenue just after 3 a.m. and found 43-year-old Maurice Pollard with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

A 21-year-old man told police he shot Pollard after he kicked down the front door. Three other people were also at home at the time. No charges have been filed.

Police say Pollard lived on the same block, but gave no motive or further details for the alleged break-in.
