Man Fatally Shot In Ballpark Village Was Newlywed Father Of Two

Corey Hall, 38, a newlywed father of two celebrating his birthday died at a hospital early Monday morning of a gunshot wound to the head.

ST. LOUIS, MO — The man fatally shot at the Budweiser Brew House in Ballpark Village Sunday night was a newlywed father of two celebrating his birthday, the Post-Dispatch reports.

Police said 38-year-old Corey Hall of north St. Louis County was an innocent bystander to an argument that ended in shots being fired. According to witnesses, the shooter was knocked to the ground during a scuffle. That's when he pulled a gun and fired several shots at the man he was arguing with. That man, a 36-year-old friend of Hall's, was struck in the thigh. Hall was hit in the head and died at a hospital early Monday morning.

Ballpark village was placed on lockdown after the shooting. The entertainment district is across the street from Busch Stadium where the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. The shooting took place at a ticketed party event called Eat.Drink.Chill. at a rooftop bar overlooking the stadium.
