Two Fatal Shootings In St. Louis' JeffVanderLou Neighborhood

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police are investigating after a 40-year-old man was fatally shot in the city's JeffVanderLou neighborhood early Monday morning.

Authorities say the shooting happened near the intersection of North Market Street and Bacon Street around 12:45 a.m. One victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

A few hours earlier, another man had been shot to death in the 3800 block of Cottage Avenue, just a few blocks to the northwest, also in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood. Police haven't released any details about that shooting.
