Man, Utility Worker Killed In Berkeley Shooting

BERKELEY, MO — A man identified as 27-year-old William Dortch is dead after a shooting in north St. Louis County Thursday afternoon, police said. Authorities say he was shot in his car and another person drove him to a hospital where he later died.

Several hundred yards away, 55-year-old Frank Langston, a contractor working for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, was hit by a stray bullet from the same shooting. He was taken to a hospital with what police said was a lower body injury. He died of his wounds on Friday.

Berkeley Police have turned the investigation over to detectives from St. Louis County. No suspects have been identified.
