Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:

  1. The Memphis Redbirds, the St. Louis Cardinals' Triple-A affiliate, once again has a new owner. Technology-centric private equity firm Silver Lake has acquired the team along with 9 other Minor League Baseball teams from Endeavor. Daily operations are not likely to change under the new ownership. (The Business Journals)
  2. The Federal Emergency Management Agency begins surveying the St. Louis area today. The crews will be helping local homeowners apply for FEMA aid. The crews will be operating through the City of St. Louis, St. Charles County, and St. Louis County. Crews will have a photo ID and residents are encouraged to ask to see it before letting anyone into their homes. (KSDK.com)
  3. St. Louis Public Schools Superintendent Kelvin Adamas has announced his retirement. According to Adams, he will be retiring in December. He has been the head of the district for 14 years and has been the district's longest-serving superintendent. He is reportedly most proud of offering the district leadership stability during his tenure. (St. Louis Public Radio)
