Missouri Flooding: Mississippi Will Crest In St. Louis Next Week
Dozens of low-lying roads north of St. Louis have been closed and farm levees are at risk, state officials say.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Floodwaters have closed about 80 low-lying roads north of St. Louis as rivers and creeks continue to rise, state officials say. Nearly two dozen counties are under a flood warning, the Associated Press reports, and National Weather Service forecasters say they expect the Mississippi River to crest sometime next week.
The Army Corps of Engineers has activated its Emergency Operations Center ahead of expected flooding farther down river, and flood gates in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau are expected to close soon.
