Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:
- The St. Louis Department of Health has appointed Victoria Anwuri as its new health commissioner. According to Director Dr. Mati Hlatshywayo Davis, Anwuri was chosen for her "equity-centered" experience and for her grant management. The appointment will hopefully fill gaps in the department's organization while supporting its programs. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
- Taste of St. Louis will be returning from Sep. 23 through Sep. 25. The free food festival will be hosted at Ballpark Village. The event will span both parking lots and into Ballpark Village's back courtyard. Click to get tickets and to review the full event schedule (Sauce Magazine)
- The Illinois State Police will be moving its district headquarters to East St. Louis. The move will include the construction of a new $55 million headquarters facility next to the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center. According to Director Kelly, the project will take at least three years to complete. (Belleville News-Democrat)
