Here are the top stories today in St. Louis:

1. Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in a North City neighborhood on Monday afternoon. Around 12:30 p.m., a man was found shot in the 4300 block of Prairie Ave. in the Fairgrounds neighborhood. The victim was unconscious and not breathing by the time paramedics arrived. (KMOV.com)
2. A young girl was killed and a woman was injured in a crash on I-55 in south St. Louis on Sunday evening. According to a police report, a Kia Optima was going northbound on I-55 when it left the highway, hit several objects and came to rest at Idaho Ave. and Blow St. The driver, a 27-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 7-year-old girl identified as Ashanti Thompson, were both rushed to a hospital for treatment where the young girl died from her injuries. 3. St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page announced a report which shows COVID-19 is St. Louis County’s third leading cause of death in 2020, accounting for 11 percent of all deaths for the year. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
4. Commonwealth, the Angad Arts Hotel's newest restaurant, will be opening on Oct. 6 in St. Louis. (Riverfront Times)
