Officer Involved In Two Separate Off-Duty Shootings This Year
The same Velda City officer shot two men in separate incidents within about a month of each other. Both times he was off duty.

ST. LOUIS, MO — The Post-Dispatch reports an off-duty Velda City police officer who shot a man with a knife outside a Tower Grove bar January 31 was involved in another off-duty shooting earlier this month. The paper writes that the officer shot at a fleeing robber after a home invasion April 4 in the 2300 block of South Jefferson Avenue in St. Louis' Fox Park neighborhood.
Police said the first shooting at the bar was "in compliance with department policy." The second is still under investigation.
