- Residents and officials have opposed the name of the new north St. Louis hospital which is slated to open in the spring. Roughly 50 residents turned out for a public meeting Wednesday at City Hall to express outrage over the name of a new Homer G. Phillips hospital, which they argue usurps and minimizes the legacy of the original hospital of the same name. The hospital's name echoes that of the original five-story, 600-bed Homer G. Phillips Hospital situated in the Ville neighborhood, at 2601 Whittier St., which was shuttered in 1979. (STLtoday.com)
- A St. Louis County man has been convicted for fatally shooting Larry Neal Jr. after he tripped on a barbecue and fell into an apartment door in July of 2019. Thomas Clement, 30, was convicted of first-degree murder for the deadly shooting in the 6800 block of Chesapeake Dr. after he was originally charged with second-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. His sentencing is set for Dec. 3, 2021 (KMOV.com)
