Patch Photo Of The Day: Selective Color
Share your photos with Patch to be featured and for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO — This photo comes from Angelo Tuano in Maryland Heights. He uses selective color to highlight flower petals strewn around two pairs of sunglasses, one of them broken. In the reflection is a towel sculpture of a dog.
"Young love can be both beautiful and destructive," Tuano says.
We'll leave it to our readers to interpret the photo's meaning.

Selective color can be an effective way to highlight an element in your composition. Some cameras can do it in-camera. If yours won't, here's how to do it with Photoshop. Just make sure you know why you're doing it, as it can easily be overused. Go try it out yourself and send us your best shots.
We'll be posting submissions like this one until we pick the winner of our summer photo contest on September 1. You could win a $50 Amazon gift card and a feature interview published on Patch.
