Police Say Missing 3-Year-Old Has Been Found Safe

A couple initially described as "babysitters" turned out to be legal co-guardians. Their lawyer called it a "big misunderstanding."

ST. LOUIS, MO — St. Louis County Police said Monday morning that a 3-year-old boy went missing Sunday afternoon after his parents dropped him off with a babysitter at an area gas station. That report has now been updated after the child was found safe and police determined that the woman accused of kidnapping him had legal guardianship.

The Post-Dispatch reports the man and woman parents described as babysitters have been legal co-guardians since 2017.
