Police Ask For Help Identifying McDonald's Robbery Suspect

Police say a man with a rifle jumped over the counter at a McDonald's in south St. Louis Thursday afternoon.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police say a man in a green hoodie and blue jeans, wearing a multi-colored scarf over his face, jumped over the counter at a McDonald's restaurant on South Jefferson Ave. Thursday afternoon around 1:36 p.m. He was African-American, 5-feet-six to 5-feet-nine inches tall and weighed between 150 to 180 pounds, police say. He was armed with a black assault-style rifle or carbine.

Officials said he forced the restaurant manager to open the safe and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
