Police Ask For Help Solving Danesha Barnes' Murder

The 33-year-old woman was fatally shot on Valentines Day two years ago. Can you identify her killer's vehicle?

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police are asking for help solving a 2-year-old murder case. Danesha Barnes, 33, was found dead in her car the day after Valentine's Day 2016. She had been shot in the neck.

Police found her silver Saturn just after 1:00 a.m. in the 3700 block of St. Louis Ave. after responding a report of gunshots. Both driver side windows had been shot out and the car had come to rest against a fence.

Detectives say Barnes spent the evening at Midtown Sports Bar and Grill on East Prairie Ave., just a few blocks from where her car was found. She had reportedly left the bar alone before midnight.

Two years later — to the day — police have released surveillance footage from that night. Detectives say it shows a dark-colored vehicle closely following Barnes as she drove east down St. Louis Ave. away from the bar. It was captured in the 3800 block of the same street.

The vehicle appears to be an SUV and in the video it is driving with its lights turned off.
