- City officials have announced plans to shut down a longstanding homeless encampment near the Gateway Arch. Roughly 30 people are estimated to be staying at the tent village on Laclede’s Landing, which is expected to be removed on May 2. Notices posted at and around the site indicate that the city plans to offer alternative shelter and housing for the encampment's current occupants. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- The Loop will kick off its first-ever "Restaurant Week" this Saturday, Apr. 30. During the event, Delmar Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic for a festival featuring live performances, shopping, and family-friendly activities. Attendees who take a picture of their receipt from participating restaurants next week will automatically be entered into a contest to win prizes. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- Dog owners are invited to submit photos of their pet for a chance to become a B.A.R.K Ranger at Gateway Arch National Park. Among other prizes, the winning pup will become the official inspiration for the next B.A.R.K. Ranger logo design and be featured on the park's social media.
