Richard Quinn Named FBI Special Agent In Charge Of St. Louis
The St. Louis FBI field office has a new special agent in charge.

ST. LOUIS, MO — FBI Director Christopher Wray has announced the appointment of Richard Quinn as special agent in charge of the Bureau's St. Louis Division. Quinn most recently served as chief of the Media and Investigative Publicity Section in the FBI's Office of Public Affairs. He will assume his new role in mid-November.
Quinn became an FBI agent in 1997 and was first assigned to the New York Field Office, where he investigated international terrorism and foreign counterintelligence matters as a member of the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Quinn has held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in the Chicago and Philadelphia Field Offices.
The new appointment comes as the FBI is under heightened political scrutiny in the wake of the firing of Wray's predecessor, James Comey. President Trump fired Comey in May after asking him to "let go" Michael Flynn who had been caught up in the bureau's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Comey's firing led directly to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, whom NBC News reported yesterday has gathered enough evidence to charge Flynn with crimes that include money laundering and lying to federal agents. Three former Trump campaign officials have also been indicted by the special counsel.
