Saint Louis Gun Battle Sends Firefighters Running, 1 Injured

Reports indicate the gunmen fled in multiple vehicles, leaving nearby cars riddled with bullets.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A St. Louis firehouse came under attack this morning — or it must have seemed like it — after a "rolling gun battle" sent firefighters and bystanders scrambling, the Post-Dispatch reports. One man was critically injured as multiple shooters opened fire from their vehicles, but no firefighters were hit.

The gun battle happened outside Engine House No. 32 shortly before 7 a.m. Monday. Bystanders sought the safety of the firehouse after gunfire erupted nearby. Meanwhile, medics managed to reach the man who was shot, and get him to a hospital. His identity has not been released.

Reports indicate the gunmen fled in multiple vehicles, leaving nearby cars — including four belonging to the firefighters — riddled with bullets.
