Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:
- A $150 million revitalization plan for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is meant to restore North St. Louis. The revitalization plan is being funded through federal funds acquired through the American Rescue Plan Act. The 12-page plan is reportedly focusing on real estate and economic development initiatives to achieve economic justice for the city's poorest area. (KSDK.com)
- The St. Louis Police Department has charged Kyle Stone with fatally shooting a man in the Shaw neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 4000 block of Flora Pl. on Friday night. Surveillance footage led the department to Stone within 20 minutes of the incident occurring. (KSDK.com)
- St. Louis County reports the highest number of pedestrian crash fatalities since 2002. The data was released through a crash report by Trailnet. The 2021 report indicated that predominantly Black or minority areas experienced a disproportionately high number of pedestrian crash fatalities at 80 percent. (KMOV4)
