ST. LOUIS, MO — A water ride at Six Flags St. Louis has been shut down after a rider fell Saturday. The rider was taken to a hospital "as a precaution," but the extent of his or her injuries is unclear.

Saturday was the first day in operation for the Typhoon Twister, a 125-foot whirlpool thrill ride featuring 360-degree spins and a five-story drop. Six Flags said the rider didn't fall from the ride itself, only out of the raft.

The park didn't say how long the ride will be closed, only that it's looking into exactly what went wrong, adding that it's standard procedure to shut down a ride after any accident.
