Six People Fatally Shot In Their Cars Sunday

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police are investigating six murders that all took place between Sunday morning and early Monday morning. All of the victims were found shot to death in their cars.
The Post-Dispatch reports police found a woman dead in her car just after 7 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Evans Avenue in north St. Louis' Vandeventer neighborhood.
Just before noon, a man in his 20s was found dead near the intersection of Marcus and Ashland avenues, just east of Handy Park. He had been shot multiple times, police said.

About an hour later, and less than a mile away, a woman was found dead in a parked car in the 2700 block of Taylor Avenue.

Just before 9 p.m., KSDK reports, two men were found shot in a car in the 900 block of Canaan Avenue in north St. Louis. One of the men died at the scene, the other was taken to a local hospital. His condition isn't clear.
And a man and woman were found dead in the 700 block of North Euclid Avenue Monday morning. Both had been shot sometime overnight.
Police haven't released additional information about any of the shootings. It's not clear if any of the shootings may be related.
More than 30,000 Americans are killed by guns every year and twice that number are injured, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 13,000 are murdered. The rest take their own lives or are victims of shooting accidents. Almost half are children or young adults.
Last year St. Louis cracked its 25-year murder record. Per capita, the city ranks third for homicides in the United States and first for non-fatal shootings, according to data from the FBI and Major Cities Chiefs Association.
So far this year, 128 people have been murdered in St. Louis.
