SLAM Announces Promotions As Part Of Management Change

Jeanette Fausz and Mark Macinsky have been promoted to assistant directorships.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Jeanette Fausz and Mark Macinsky have been promoted to assistant directorships at the Saint Louis Art Museum, according to a news release. Fausz will be in charge of exhibitions and collections while Macinsky will oversee operations and security.

Fausz previously ran the museum’s departments of conservation, design, exhibitions, installation, and registration. She recently coordinated planning and logistical efforts associated with the museum’s North American premiere of “Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds,” which the museum called the most complicated exhibition installation undertaken there in more than a generation.

“Jeanette has been instrumental in the success of ‘Sunken Cities’ and other recent exhibitions,” said Brent R. Benjamin, director of the Saint Louis Art Museum. “This well-deserved promotion also recognizes Jeanette’s long-standing commitment to safeguarding, strengthening and sharing the Saint Louis Art Museum’s collection.”

Fausz joined the museum as assistant registrar in 1991, and during her time at the museum served in a number of roles, including director of exhibitions and head registrar. She supervised the installation of 71 galleries and nearly 2,000 works of art throughout the museum’s newly renovated campus, the museum said.

As for Macinski, he previously oversaw the museum’s departments of building operations, engineering, and protection services. After joining the museum as a manager of protection services in 2002, he assumed responsibilities for building operations (in 2013) and helped oversee the renovation of the Farrell Auditorium and construction of the Grace Taylor Broughton Sculpture Garden.
