Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:
- Over 900 Ukrainian refugees may be resettled in St. Louis. The International Institute of St. Louis is preparing for the refugees' arrival. The organization has been focused on resettling over 600 Afghans in the area since 2021. Click to learn more about the organization and donate. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- The City of St. Louis issued a building permit to Topgolf for a new location in Midtown. The permit lists the development costs at $22 million. The site of the location is reportedly 3201 Chouteau Avenue and the city owns a portion of the site. The majority of the property is owned by Midtown Redevelopment Corp. (The Business Journals)
- St. Louis World's Fare Heritage Festival & Games is scheduled to return from Friday, Sep. 2 through Sunday, Sep. 4. The event is meant to honor the 1904 World's Fair at Forest Park. The event is free to attend and will feature various local restaurants. The event's stated purpose is to educate the community on St. Louis history and foods first unveiled at the 1904 World's Fair, such as cotton candy. (Sauce Magazine)
