St. Louis' First Shake Shack Opens With A Local Twist

The burger joint will offer local items, including gooey butter cake, Fitz's root beer, and burgers topped with Provel cheese.

ST. LOUIS, MO — The city's first Shake Shack opened today in the Central West End. Located at the corner of Euclid and West Pine, the New York burger joint will offer a host of local items including gooey butter cake, Fitz's root beer, and burgers topped with Provel cheese. Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer is a native St. Louisan and attended John Burroughs School in Ladue. He opened his first restaurant in New York City in 1985.
