St. Louis Man Charged in Quadruple Murder

Police say Dupree took the time to pick up shell casings in an attempt to cover his tracks. He is charged with four counts of murder.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Ja’Vonne Dupree, 20, was arrested Friday in in Columbia, Mo. in connection with a quadruple murder that took place in Glasgow Village in St. Louis County in August. Police say Dupree shot Patricia Steward, 56, her sons Joseph Corely, 20, and Terrence Dehart, 10, and another teenager, 18-year-old Deandre Kelley Jr., before robbing their home and fleeing in a stolen car. Dupree is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, as well as robbery and other crimes.

A statement of probable cause, released by the St. Louis County Police Department, describes a methodical murder, in which Dupree had the forethought to pick up shell casings from the scene, even as the family lay dying.
