St. Louis Man Sentenced For Student Loan Fraud, Identity Theft
Authorities say Malachi Duncan fraudulently enrolled at Jefferson College and The University of Memphis. He was sentenced in St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A Hillsboro man, Malachi Duncan, has been sentenced to 45 months in prison in district court in St. Louis. He was charged with student loan fraud and aggravated identify theft. Authorities say he used a false name to fraudulently enroll as a student at Jefferson College in Hillsboro and at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, obtaining federal aid, housing and on-campus employment in the process.
Duncan, who is 32 years old, pled guilty over the summer, and was sentenced by Judge John A. Ross last week. In addition to prison, he was ordered to pay his victims restitution of more than $57,000.
