- The City of St. Louis finished last in a ranking of the safest cities in the United States published this week. The study by WalletHub evaluated 182 cities on various factors including pandemic response, natural disasters, and crime. St. Louis finished with a score of 42,81, trailing just behind Fort Lauderdale, San Bernardino, and Detroit. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- The city's Department of Health announced Wednesday that it will launch a new Behavioral Health Bureau in St. Louis, which currently has the highest rate of mental health-related emergency room visits in the state. The new bureau will seek to increase access to mental health care and substance abuse treatment in an effort to improve public safety. It will be allocated for in the city's budget and receive additional funding from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
