SWAT Team Responds To North St. Louis Shooting Wednesday Night

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police say a man was shot in the 800 block of Elias Avenue, just west of Hickey Park in the north city's Baden neighborhood, around 7:30 Wednesday evening. He was not responsive when officers arrived.
Witness reports initially indicated that the shooter had barricaded himself in a nearby house, but a police SWAT team searched the house and did not find the shooter, according to a report from the Post-Dispatch early Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, police found a human head and the partially-burned remains of a body in a dumpster just a few blocks southwest of the shooting.
Police haven't released any additional information or said if the two incidents are related.
