Three Shot In North City Shootout, Car Chase
A man gave chase after two men reportedly robbed him. The chase ended in a crash, followed by a shootout, police said, injuring all three.
ST. LOUIS, MO — Police are investigating a north city robbery that led to a car chase and shootout near Hickey Park on the border of St. Louis and Bellefontaine Neighbors Thursday morning. One man involved said he was robbed by the other two men and gave chase in his Nissan Altima. The two robbers were driving a Hyundai Sonata — police later determined it to be stolen.
Both cars crashed on North Broadway just north of Hickey Park and the three men came out shooting. The two alleged robbers — 18 and 20 years old — were shot in their legs while the 22-year-old victim was shot in the chest. All three were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.
