Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:

  1. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that two teenage boys were shot on early Sunday morning in north St. Louis. The boys were shot in the 8900 block of Riverview Boulevard shortly after midnight. The 17-year-old was shot in the stomach, while the 16-year-old was shot in the ankle. Both are currently at a local hospital in stable condition as of Sunday evening. (KSDK.com)
  2. A St. Louis County motel caught fire on Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Pagedale at the Robinson Motel on Page Avenue. Dozens of guests and residents were evacuated during the incident. Multiple local fire departments responded to the blaze. As of Sunday evening, it is still unclear what started the fire. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
  3. St. Louis’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised $900,000 on Saturday. The money will be used for Alzheimer's research and for patient care. The event was emceed by Kent Ehrhardt, a KMOV meteorologist, at the Chesterfield Amphitheater. Thousands of local residents participated in the event. (KMOV4)

Patch deal of the day:

Good knives make all the difference in the kitchen, but you don’t need to overpay for them. Seido Japanese knives are made with strong high-carbon stainless steel (high-carbon knives are more durable and usually more expensive) and have an acute 15-degree angle for a noticeably sharper cutting face (most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees). For a limited time, Patch readers can get a 5-piece Seido Japanese master knife set for 71 percent off. At just under $70, this chef-quality set is perfect for any home cook and would also make a great gift for the holidays.
