  1. A Starbucks in Valley Park has become the sixth in the St. Louis area to file for unionization. The store is located at 922 S. Meramec Station Road. The Starbucks employees say that they want to raise the base hourly pay to $20 an hour and set up debit-card tipping options for customers. The unionization push comes as part of a nationwide campaign by Workers United to organize Starbucks shops across the country. (The Business Journals)
  2. Looking good for Earth Day! A "Tourism Trash Force" of two dozen volunteers picked up trash in downtown St. Louis to mark the holiday. The volunteers hope that the trash cleanup will encourage tourism in the city, which is a nearly $7 billion industry according to Explore St. Louis. Read more about the group at the link. (KSDK.com)
  3. A father and son are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in north St. Louis County on Thursday. Police responded to a call before 10:00 p.m. and found the two dead from gunshot wounds. The shooting took place in the 2500 block of Nathan Drive. There is still an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police. (KSDK.com)
